Animal Eyes

There are many ways to see the world. Eyes can be of different shapes and colors. They also work in various ways. Let's learn more about sight in animals as we explore animal eyes.

A Messy Classroom offers free reading and educational resources for homeschooling parents and teachers. Educators and learners will enjoy our books, videos, songs, worksheets, crafts, and other activities. We believe in hands-on learning and full-body engagement. We encourage pre-k and elementary kids to be loud, messy, and make mistakes in all the subjects through fun, project-based learning. Resources are easily compatible with Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and any other Piagetian program.

Animal Eye Cards

Watch the video and guess which animal's eye you see. If your child is younger, you can print out the animal eye cards for them to use as they watch the video. After the video, classroom teachers can put the animal eye cards on different desks. Give each kid 4 sticky notes. Have them do a gallery walk around the different photos and put some comments about the eyes next to four of them. If a photo already has 4 sticky notes, then they need to comment on a different photo. Go over some of their comments as a class. In small groups, have kids compare human eyes to an animal’s eyes using the comparison sheet.
